Wow, what were we thinking?! The move was pretty stressful and I was quickly reminded that Pete is such a bad mover. Two days before the move and I quote my dear husband, “What do we pack? We’re still living here.” Huh?!?!?! Oh my!!!! Thankfully we hired a company to move us, but yes we did the packing.In the end we survived it, but we almost killed my mom off in the process. She was at our house helping pack and watching the girls for a few days before and after the move, not to mention she helped clean our old place so it was ready to show. The morning of the move, she watched the girls in their "nursery" at the new house. Apparently they had a good scream fest which echoed quite loudly in their empty room. She thought they missed their mom, which made me feel good. I didn’t think they would really notice if I wasn’t around.
We also got our townhouse rented this week, which was another relief. We did end up hiring a management company to get it rented with responsible tenants and handle payments, any future maintenance requests, etc. So far we’ve been very thankful we’ve done that, one less thing we have to worry about. In this economy & housing market, we feel fortunate that we’re able to keep it to continue to gain equity and purchase a new house.
